As much as I hate to admit it, the holidays are quickly approaching.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this time of year, but I hate all the money we seem to hemorrhage from now through New Year’s Eve. It’s time to start getting strict with our budget so we can afford all of the festivities to come.
In this modern era of the internet and Pinterest, you don’t have to look far to find some wonderful DIY ideas that can save you money. Thank goodness! I’ve rounded up a few that will help us pinch some pennies as we head into the holiday season.

Who doesn’t love a good pumpkin spice latte? I could easily spend $50 a week on these at Starbucks if I had an unlimited budget. Unfortunately, I don’t, but I love the idea of keeping the ingredients to make my own on hand. ClickinMoms has a great recipe pinned for just that.

If you haven’t jumped on the homemade cleaner’s bandwagon yet, there’s no time like the present. Not only is it better for your wallet, it’s better for the environment, too. The Frugal Girls have a great list of links pinned for DIY cleaners and lots of other thrifty tips.

I love the idea of hand-making sweet hostess gifts, teachers’ gifts and gifts for others as we head into a season that gives us a wonderful excuse to thank all of those who make our lives happy in some way. The Paper Mama has a wonderful list of 50 links for holiday DIY projects. They range in simplicity and surely you can find an idea that will work perfectly for your skill level and your recipient.
What are some of the things you’re doing to save money as we head into the final stretch of 2012?
